Spaghetti Sauce-
bottle strained tomatoes
small onion
three cloves garlic
milk
1 1/2 tsp basil
1/2 tsp oregano
1 tbsp sugar
water
olive oil
Meatballs-
package ground pork
egg
handful panko breadcrumbs
salt & pepper
1 tsp basil
1/2 tsp oregano
Stir meat, egg, breadcrumbs & all spices, stir well and form meatballs. Set on a plate.
Mince the garlic and finely chop onion. Heat oil on medium heat, add onions and garlic and salt right away to stop avoid water. Cook for 3-4 minutes until soft. Add strained tomatoes and half bottles' worth of water, spices and tablespoon sugar. stir and simmer covered, about 8 minutes. Add enough milk to make sauce creamy looking, about 1/2 cup or so. Then add meatballs, simmer for 12-15 minutes, covered. Serve over pasta & sprinkle with cheese! Best spaghetti & meatballs ever! :)
Mark getting ready to add the olive oil! How cute!
Also, Mark and I decided that tomorrow is our Valentine's day, and we finally planned our menu from the recipe books we picked up the other day. We're making Nigella's caesar salad with homemade dressing, ricotta and spinach stuffed shells and molten chocolate cakes for dessert! Sounds fabulous to me!
I will also be posting all the steps and recipes to my Valentine's day dinner!
Until next time,
Jacqueline
